Soccer Stuff

Johnny is still keeping busy with coaching Southridge High school girl's soccer team. Over the season I have been able to attend a few games. They are at a difficult time when you have little ones who nap and have early bedtimes, but we made it to a few games somehow. Here is a picture of the girls heading the ball, at a game about a month ago.

Then last week I got a chance to go to their final game without my kids. Thankfully because the winds were really high and it was cold! Anyhow they won the game which ended winning them the league! Yeah Southridge!

Them all celebrating after the game. They are an awesome bunch of girls. Sarah, (who is the wife of the head coach, Riley) and I wanted to do something for the girls in honor of their awesome season. So we hosted a team dinner at my house. It was crazy to see how much teenage girls can eat. (I am glad we didn't do this for the boys team!) I am so proud of the girls and for Johnny and Riley for doing such an awesome job.

They have a game tomorrow and hopefully they can keep winning their next games so they can make it all the way to state!

I know Johnny has really enjoyed coaching the girls and coaching with Riley. Even though this was a one season thing, I hope the athlete director will do the right thing and hire these guys again for next season. The girls don't like the other coach and many have even threatened to quit if he comes back. They have done amazing things with these girls and they have really enjoyed working with them, so hopefully they will see what a lose they would have if they don't hire them back.
We will keep you posted to what happens in the next few weeks. I am hoping we will be making a trip to Seattle in a few weeks to watch them at state.

Thanks for being such a supportive coach's wife. Riley really appreciates Johnny and all his time he puts in. They have done a great job and hopefully the girls just keep winning!

Glad they are doing well. You would think that if the athlete director had half a brain he would keep them because of how awesome the team as done.
