Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas this year. There is always so much build up and preparation for just one day, but it sure was a fabulous day. I always hate to say goodbye.
Christmas Eve we continued a newer tradition I brought from my family to the Trevino's. We did a gift exchange at my house and we had some yummy pizza. The exchange was great and I think everyone enjoyed their gifts. I thought mine was pretty great, a package of diapers and a gift card to Target. Why diapers?... So I don't have any excuse to use it on that and not myself. I guess Jamin does know me pretty well.

Emery loves horses and ponies so I found this awesome horse purse. I think she liked it
Lexi got a princess dress up set. She loved it and I was quite surprised that she wore it around most of the evening.

I got Krissy a pizza stone and I guess we thought alike because they got Debbi one too!

Grandpa and Grandma with Danielle. My friend made her onesie. It is hard to see it but it is a little tree made from fabric. She is so talented!
Christmas morning I couldn't sleep, so I was up at 7am. Which if you know me well, that is not normal. I waited until 9 for Lexi to get up. I just couldn't wait to see how excited she would be to open her gifts and see what Santa brought her.

Santa had a little theme this year of Princess stuff. She got a Princess Castle and all the the Polly Pocket Princesses. She was in heaven. It took a lot of encouragement to get her to open her other gifts. (I seem to recall the same thing happening last year) It took about 2 hours to get through it all and we had to open a lot of her gifts because she just wasn't interested anymore.

I just love the tongue action!

Danielle got a tummy elephant mat. She will enjoy that a litte better in a few more weeks.

Lexi is in love with fish. She loves to go to the pet store and look at all the fish. I would like to get her a fish tank but I don't want to clean that too. Grandma Debbi bought her this awesome fish lamp. And Lexi wasn't the only one who liked it....

And you gotta have a picture of the aftermath

Later that day we went to Johnny's parents house and enjoyed an Indian Christmas dinner. It was fun to do something different this year. We spendt most the rest of the day playing Guitar Hero and just visiting.
The Trevino men rocking to the Beatles, and the wannabe rocker...

A good friend of Debbi made her the cutest Grandma's house dress up kit. I am sure they will enjoy many hours of playing with this at Grandma's house.
It was a nice and relaxing Christmas and I enjoyed spending it with my girls and Johnny. I have such a wonderful family! Santa couldn't have brought me a present that I would have liked more then just being with them!

And I finally was brave and got a new look. I dyed my hair darker and got a short cut. I really like the color and style but it will take a little getting used too. No more ponytails for me. :(

Preparing for Christmas

So after Thanksgiving things started to hit me like a brick wall. I got sick for about a week and a half, then Lexi got it. So we stayed home the whole time and got nothing done. Then when I was feeling better we had a man pass away in my ward so I was super busy trying to make arrangements for the funeral and help serve that day too. It could have been a difficult task but I have so many wonderful sisters in my ward who volunteered right away. I am so amazed at the love that is shared in our church. Many of the woman didn't know this man or his wife well because they just returned from their mission, but it didn't matter whatsoever. They all were so willing to lend a helping hand especially during the busiest time of year.

So those are a few reasons I am so behind on my posts. So these are a few fun things we have been doing to get ready for Christmas.

Decorating the house and tree. I love seeing little kids put ornaments on the tree. (we had to do a little rearranging afterwards)

I did a little bit of baking and I really wanted to make some gingerbread houses this year. So I thought lets make it out of graham crackers because I don't know how to make gingerbread cookies and then to get them so they are the right shape was beyond me. Well lets just say that this was not my best idea. I made the wrong kind of frosting I guess and it just didn't work. Here is our failed attempt
The house didn't work out but I still wanted Lexi to decorate so she made a little road.

She also enjoyed tasting it!

So the next day the girls and I bought one of the gingerbread house kits. So here is our second attempt...

Our ward Christmas party was last week. Here is Danielle with good ol' Saint Nick

So the whole day we were talking about seeing Santa with Lexi and she was so excited until we got a little closer to the front of the line.
This is lasts years picture of Santa and Lexi

And this is this years

I think it got worse. I don't even know who the girl is, and Johnny thought it would help if he was in it too...but no she would not have that at all!

And after church yesterday I got a picture with my girls. Not great of me and our camera stinks! It is so outdated! I think Santa might be getting me a new one!
And the best two presents under my tree this year!
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and A Happy new year!

Danielle Stats

So I thought I would write how big my little baby is getting. We went to the Dr earlier this month for her 2 month check-up.

Height:19 3/4 inches

Weight: 10 lbs 10 oz

Head 35.5
I am a bad mom and can never remember what percentile they say, but she is bigger than Lexi was that is for sure.
Lexi's Stats at 2 months
Height: 21 1/4 in
Weight: 10 lbs 1 oz
Head 37.6

So I guess Danielle is just short and fatter. But oh so cute! She is now 11 weeks old. I got her to laugh for me last week. So fun! Lexi was barely smiling at this age. I love seeing the difference in personality between the girls. I love them so much and am so happy that we have Danielle in our family this year.

Blessing Danielle

On Saturday November 28, 2009 Danielle Lynn Trevino was blessed in our home by her father.
Here she is in her special dress! I know ahhhh!
My mom and dad with all of their grandchildren. Ryan, Joseph, Lexi Danielle, Hannah, Emily, Juliana and Marissa

Left to right, William, Mary, Julie, Dad, Mom, Candice, Wendy and Bobby. This is the first time my whole family has been together in about 4 1/2 years, which was my wedding.

Our first family photo! I know that is sad that it took 2 months and still Lexi is not happy! Maybe someday we will get a good one.

The Trevino's

Our four generation picture. My grandma Horsley, my Dad, me and Danielle

And Aunt Wendy and Danielle before being blessed. Afterwards we had a great time chatting, playing games and eating some waffles! Yummy!

The whole family! Only missing one of Johnny's brothers and his wife. :( It was a great and spiritual weekend for me. I am again so blessed for such a supportive family. I love you all and thank you again for making Danielle's day so special.

Hopefully between all the other camera's we had, I hope to get some better pictures than the ones I have!

Thanksgiving Party with the Trevino's

We had an awesome Thanksgiving weekend! I would venture to say for me, it was one of the best ones ever! All of my family came to our house for some part of the weekend! Get ready for pictures, because I took a bunch...
Lexi and her cousin Joseph who will be 2 in a few weeks! They are about the same size but that didn't stop Lexi from bossing him around.

This is my sister Candice, her girls Emily and Hannah and her hubby Jared. (Joseph also belongs to them) They got to stay for about a week. It was so fun to see Lexi bond right away with her cousins that she only has seen a few times a year. They would run in her room and shut poor Joseph out and play for hours. Every once in awhile I would have to check on them, but for the most part they just played so well together.

Lexi loved tackling her uncle Bobby. (I think he liked it too)

Danielle loving on her Uncle Rudy.

Juliana didn't want to hold Lexi too much when she was a baby but I caught her loving with Danielle.

Lexi and cousin Ryan. This is funny to me because Ryan is the sweetest boy but Lexi always shys away from him, but I think he finally won her heart.

My babysitter Marissa who I wished lived close so I could have her watch the girls all the time for me.

Bobby getting tortured again...

Of course the first thing Aunt Mary did when she walked in was to grab this little baby! No surprise there!

We all enjoy some games. One of my family favs is pinochle.

Uncle William was sort of a surprise visitor. No one knew for sure that he was coming until they were here! We are so glad that he made it.

I had Johnny show the girls the rock wall to help burn off some of their energy.
Our sweet Grandma! We love her dearly and are so thankful for all that she has done for all of us over the years.

Lexi and Bobby doing some artwork
The kids wanted to play outside even though it was freezing. I didn't complain because it was a nice break from the loudness.

Lexi and Emery chowing down the turkey

Hannah and Emily too

Grandpa (my dad) and Danielle. He definitely has a sweet spot for little babies. No wonder he became a pediatrician.

Little Joseph being a boy and causing trouble!

Candyland! Anymore said there?

And by the end of the week...this describes how I feel.

I am so grateful for all of my family who traveled very far to come and be with us for Thanksgiving and the blessing of Danielle. I am grateful for a wonderful husband who allowed all of this chaos and who was such a good help. I am thankful for a capable body that I was able to successfully throw this shindig. I am thankful for all the sacrifice that many people have made for me over the years. And of course I am thankful for my Heavenly Father and my older brother Jesus Christ. Plus so many more blessing that would just take too long to write!
