My Testimony

So today was fast and testimony meeting at church. I always feel bad when I don't share my testimony but sometimes it is just impossible, plus I HATE public speaking. I want to be better about sharing my testimony and I thought this would be a good way for my children to know what my testimony is like at this point in my life, plus I am better at writing my feelings. (Please feel free to not read this but I can't have my testimony grow if I don't share it!)

I have a testimony of the power of prayer. The other day in the middle of the night I was getting very upset that Danielle kept waking up. I am a person who is very grumpy when I don't sleep well and I was feeling myself getting very mad and fast. I quickly said a prayer in my heart and was instantly calmed. I am comforted to know that Heavenly Father can answer my prayers so quickly. I know that he wants to me figure things out on my own too, but he is still be there to help me along the way. My prayers have been answered in many important times in my life and also some not so important things, but he cares about those things too. I am so happy and relieved that He is there for me.

I am also know that Heavenly Father has our prophets on earth, who are here to lead us back to Heavenly Father if we can just listen to their counsel.

Over the last couple of years I have been compassionate service leader in my ward, which means I help my sisters both physically and spiritually. I love this calling so much because I have seen myself grow as a sister in the church, a mother and a wife. I love the women I serve and they are truly are my sisters forever. Service is such an amazing thing and one act of service can change all of eternity. I often give myself a hard time because I didn't call so and so when I thought about it and then it was a week too late. I know I have young children who need my constant care but I just feel like I can do more. I love the theme of our stake this year of becoming a little better. I know that I can do and I am going to be a little bit better everyday, whether that means not doing housework so that I can teach my children something new. I know they and I will both be blessed and I will be provided with the energy to do the housework later.

I know that I am blessed with too many things to list, and even in my more challenging times I know that I still am being blessed by my Heavenly Father. I also have a testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ. I am thankful for him and can't wait to meet him someday. When I do I just pray that I am ready.

I love my family and am relieved to know that I can be with them for all of eternity.

I says these thing in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

My Valentines Day

I love love love that Lexi is growing up and becoming a good big sister. She loves to try and help me when Danielle is upset. While I am in the shower she will help make her happy by squeezing one of the really annoying stuffed animals, that plays only one song, but it gets me through the shower with minimal screaming. She is always looking out for her and making sure her mobile is running when she is in the swing, and she will randomly go and laugh at her, which then Danielle will squeal back in delight.
I just wanted to share a little glimpse of what goes on at my house now-a-days. You get this...
or this....

Lexi decided that Danielle needed to dress up too. If you look real close you can see Danielle's eye looking through a hole.
That's much better sis
Ta DA!!! The princess for the day..or everyday she seems to believe!
And because today is the day of love I thought I would share with we did to celebrate.

Our Valentines was fabulous this year. Usually we don't do too much but go out to eat within the week of Valentines and call it good. This year Johnny came home on Friday with some beautiful red roses. (no picture sorry) I always tease him because he doesn't buy flowers very often. I think in our 6 years of dating and marriage I can count on one hand how many times he bought me flowers. The reason is partially my fault because when we first we dating I told him I rather he took me out and spend time with me then buy me flowers. So he took that literally and no flowers until one day I spoke up and gave him a hard time about it. So he now is aware that I do like flowers every once in awhile. But I still say I rather he take me out, than buy me expensive flowers. (keep that on the down low though!) Saturday we got to go to my favorite Indian place for lunch and later we met up with my good friends Betsy and Dave and we watched Avatar in 3D. We came home, the girls went to bed early, and we enjoyed the rest of the evening in peace. On Sunday we cooked some lobster tails, steak and some Cajun fries. Pretty yummy I must say. I have never cooked lobster so hopefully my head in not in the toilet tonight!

It is hard for me to believe that Johnny and I met 6 years ago on Friday February 13, and now we are happily married and have two beautiful daughters. (story of how we meet to come on another blog post so stay tuned...)
Happy Valentine's Day to one and all!

Danielle laughing

If this doesn't make you smile, I can't help you!

The camera is a little shaky because I was laughing so hard! Every time Lexi's laughs Danielle chimes in too. Hilarius I tell you!

My girls

I just love love love my girls!!! They are so sweet and always brings a smile to my face! It has been a little while since I have updated my blog so I thought I better do it soon before I forget more stuff than I already have.

Lexi's update:

  • Lexi is always saying funny things that makes me laugh:

* She sings "Winnie honey Pooh" while dancing

*"I watch a movie watch?"

*"Shh or Be quiet, Danielle is sleeping" when she isn't

*"Don't touch Dad, it is very hot!" After mom told her not to touch her hair straightener.

  • One of our newest adventures is potty training. It took awhile for her to actually go on the potty but then finally she did it and it seemed to click...or I thought. She would even go on her own sometimes, and then all of a sudden it is a big fight to get her to try and most of the time she doesn't go and goes in her pull-up

  • She is one smart cookie. So to finally get her to go in the toilet, I put her feet in some warm water. So she likes doing that and always asks to do that even though she doesn't really need it anymore. After she "went potty" I would check with some tp to see if she is wet. The other day Johnny caught her putting water on herself. Now I don't know if she did this on purpose so that she could get a cookie or not, but either way it is pretty hilarious. The other day I checked on her after about one minute and she had a whole roll in the toilet. I was afraid it would clog it so I had to dig it out. Yuck! We were literally flushing money down the drain!
  • She is still such a girl. She loves to carry a purse anywhere we go. I don't let her take it in the stores because I am afraid that she might put something in it one of these days without me knowing.

I just realized that she has her middle finger sticking up. Sad to say, but she does this frequently, of course not on purpose.

  • Lexi likes to stay in her jammies unless I tell her we are going to a friend's house then quickly she runs for her clothes and shoes
  • She is always using her hands when she talks. She points at me a lot when she is bossing me around.
  • She tries to get other kids to do her dirty work. I will tell her to throw her diaper away and they she turns to her friends and tells them to do it.
  • She is also a good big sister. If Danielle is upset she will give her her binky or reset her mobile for her. The other day I caught her trying to swaddle her and giving her her binky. I wish I had my camera handy for that one.
  • When I go in her room in the morning or after nap and I often commanded to get out. Then she continues to play for awhile longer.
Danielle's update:

  • Danielle is now 3 1/2 months old. She no longer looks like a newborn baby. She had definitely chunked out a little bit. I love changing her diaper just so I can pinch those fat rolls.
  • She is always giving away a smile to anyone who will give her the time of day. She will smile at you and then quickly look away like she is embarrassed.
  • She has started to laugh. She likes to be ticked on her tummy and loves when Lexi fake laughs at her. She thinks it is the next best thing to milk!
  • She has eyes for her daddy. He will not even be looking at her and she will just look and smile at him forever. She loves to listen to him talk. (that will be a good thing for her later on) He always is able to get her to fall asleep on his chest and stay asleep there for quite awhile.
  • She is most happy in someones arms, (usually mine), then in her bumbo chair. This was well worth my money so far. She is getting better about playing on the floor but you have to be right next to her for her to be there more than 2 minutes.

  • She is a pretty good sleeper at night. She usually goes to bed around 9 and sleeps to about 2-5 depending. Now during the day...that is another tail altogether.
  • She hasn't figured out her hands yet but hopefully that will come very soon, so maybe she could entertain herself a few minutes out of the day.
  • She is a major drooler. You can notice how wet her shirt is. She also is fond of making bubbles
  • She has a happy baby attitude as long as she is getting what she wants. I am scared to see what the future has to bring with this one. One thing is for certain that there will be a lot of smiles.

On a side note: One tradition that my great Aunt Liv does is to make each new baby in the family a clown. Here is Danielle with hers. I think Danielle's was #650 something. (she has made a tons of clowns!)

Lexi with hers

Yes and I still have mine too. I loved playing with my clown when I was little and I hope my girls will like theirs too.

Happy Birthday McKenzie

Today is another dear friend of mines birthday! Happy Birthday McKenzie! (why is this the only picture I have of you? We will have to change that!)
Here are a few little things that I love about McKenzie:
  • Always willing to serve. When I was pregnant, I was complaining about how I needed to go to the store for some milk and I hate that is all I needed. Of course I was still puking my guts out at the time. McKenzie came right by and gave me a gallon of milk!
  • Always volunteers to watch my girls even if I wasn't asking her too.
  • She gets me motivated to do my exercising (in the picture above she was pulling our kids around all over the place forever. She is a rock star!)
  • She always has something to say or do to make me laugh
  • She is very good at decorating. I love seeing what new thing she has done to her house. Always turns out beautiful!
  • She has tons of energy. She is always on the go and doesn't think twice that she has two little ones to tag along.

I love McKenzie and am so glad that we meet. It has been almost two years now! Crazy how fast time goes by!

I hope you have a great birthday!

Too all of those who don't know McKenzie, I recommend getting to know her too!

*I will always remember our ward camp out port-a-potty bond!!!! ;)

Happy Birthday Betsy!

So today is my very dear friend Betsy's birthday!

Betsy and Danielle

For those of you not lucky enough to know her as well as I do, here is a few things I love about her:
  • She is super crafty even though she will tell you otherwise. She is always making very cute stuff!
  • She is a great mom. She has a daughter, Ella, who is one of Lexi's best friends, and Tanner who is going to be Danielle's boyfriend someday... I hope.
  • She is always willing to serve others and doesn't even think twice about it.
  • You can see how strong of a testimony she has
  • She never speaks negatively about anyone
  • She loves to bake and is really good at it

I could go one forever but if I tell everything about her, then you won't be able to find out about her yourself. If you know her, then you are lucky and if you don't then you should.

Thanks for always being there for me and being such a great example!

Happy Birthday Betsy!
