This summer since I was not pregnant or just had a baby we tried really hard to fill our summer days. We did movies, lots of swimming, park days, and playdates.
Lexi was my brave girl and tried knee boarding again. She didn't want to get on her knees but this was a step in the right direction.Someone finally got to go to nursery. She went right in but screamed over 30 minutes before the came to get one of us. It was a gradual process but she likes it now.
A random note I discovered on the stairs addressed to her sister who cannot read yet. HA HA HA
Oh can't forgot the tons of ice cream and popsicles these kids ate. Samantha still thinks she needs a popsicle before she will go outside.
So much in the picture I can't even contain myself!
One minute by herself means fun for her and trouble for me. Luckily there was only one pair of earrings in there and the rest was just bath toys. And I made the older girls fish them all out. HA
Something I have been dying to do for years is to kayak on the river, so this year I made it happen. Johnny and I had a blast being alone and enjoying the beautiful day.
This girls loves noodles and obviously playing with her food is also fun. She also loves to swim but she loves to give me heart attacks. She was a little too small for this swim floaty but it gave me a little bit of a break and it allowed her to swim by herself next to me. Next summer is going to be awesome!
The girls were nervous and excited to meet their teachers. Lexi was thrilled when she saw her teacher had Lego guys on her board. That is right up her alley for sure.
We went riding bikes with a friend and Danielle's friend had her training wheels off. I have encouraged Danielle all summer that she could do it but she always refused and I didn't want to push her too hard because that only makes it worse. So as I was talking to my friend I noticed Lexi was teaching Danielle how to ride our her friend's bike. And she did it like a rockstar. Johnny got home shortly after, and we took her training wheels off and now she is a pro.
I had a goal to catch up somewhat on the girl's scrapbooks and Lexi wanted to help. I hate giving up control sometimes but I will take spending alone time with any of my girls anytime. We spent 2 nap times getting her up to date and now she wants me to print more pictures so we can scrapbook some more.
PB&J pizza looks gross to me but she enjoyed it.
For my birthday this year I went to lunch was some friends and got spoiled with sweet gifts. Then a few of us braved paddle boarding. It was so much fun and next summer I want to take my kiddos. I did fall once only because the guy was trying to help me and he pushed it a little too hard.
I'm on the left. :)
Phew, just posting about our summer has made me tired but also excited for next summer's adventures.
