August Coast trip

This summer has be exceptionally hot here and I have pretty much been hiding out on my couch for the whole month of July, so it was nice to have a break and go to the Oregon Coast with Johnny's family.  On the way, we did a little shopping in Portland then stopped by the children's museum.  It was so much fun and we could of spent at least another hour there. My phone was about dead but I wish I had more pictures.  It was such a fun place, we will definitely go back.

On the drive down the girls were being so good and quiet in the back and I turned around and my miss Picasa had struck again and colored her entire hand black front and back, colored her leg orange and her arms.  Then of course she started sucking her fingers which then spread the black all over her face. So when we were at the museum she was shocked that I was actually encouraging her to color on herself.  She thought it was awesome!

A favorite area was the water room.  We spent a lot of time in there and got pretty wet.  Another favorite area was the vet area.  It was difficult to pull Lexi away from this area. I didn't get a picture but my favorite thing was the giant light brite. It make me want one all over again.
I just love this little girl and adore this picture, very frame worthy!
No trip to Seaside is complete without a ride on the carousal.
I buckled Danielle then went to help Lexi and then I hear bloody murder screaming.  Turns out Danielle started to freak out and luckily Grandma came to the rescue and rode around with her.  When she realized it wasn't going too fast we were able to get a little smile out of her.
I thought it was so ironic that she also choose the same exact animal that she rode on her very first ride ever. :)

We came across these beautiful dresses at Costco and Grandma couldn't resist.  They were so cute and Lexi's wig a favorite all around.

Of course we had to visit the different beaches.  A local recommended this beach called Indian beach.  It was so amazing.  We went during low tide and I have never seen so many starfish in my entire life.  I swear we saw at least 5,000.
I also was thinking of a fun way to announce we were expecting.  I didn't plan on it that day, (thus bad outfit) but I think it still turned out pretty cute.

I finally got to play with the camera for a little I took this pic. I thought it was not too shabby

We enjoyed some yummy hot dog and s'mores on the beach.  And Johnny was enjoying playing with his camera and lights and I think he got some fun photos.

We also were given a photo scavenger hunt, which was so much fun.  Lexi carried the paper for a day or two and was so excited when we could cross one off.  I think we were the only ones who did it, but it was so fun and definitely something I want to do again.  Here are a couple of the fun ones we did:

Copy what a statue is doing, Hiatt is our dog. :)
This fire hydrant was made in Provo UT.  I also was trying to tell the girls to lift their legs like a dog, but they didn't get it.

Whole group in a tight spot
Grandpa's tight spot didn't allow for anyone else.

One of my favorite places was Fort Stevens.  This is a boat that crashed in WW2 and this is what is left.  I am pretty sure a huge portion of it is buried in the sand a few feet. It was really foggy that day down there which made for some awesome looking pictures.
 Danielle talking to Grandma
We also checked out some of the old forts.

 Peek-a-boo
Where did Julie go???? I knew I was already showing but this picture proves it even more.
Another photo hunt:  do what the sign tells you

Reflection in an unusual place
Family jumping.  This took us a few tries but here are some of the cutest ones!

 Just for fun!
Johnny again playing with camera, he is getting so good!

Smell a flower

Have to eat ice cream on the coast

And one more fun thing we did is each person got 3 bucks to go to a thrift store and we each had a name and we had to buy something for that person.  It was surprising hard to find something less then 3 bucks.  This beauty was over budget so I just took a picture but I had John's name and I thought this suited him perfectly! It was a blast to see what everyone got and the kids had fun picking a surprise for their cousins.
And last but not least, we had to hit the Tillamock Factory on our way home. We had some yummy cheese samples, ice cream and I had a very delicious grilled cheese sandwich.  Yummm!!!
It was a super fun trip and we made a lot of fun memories together! Thanks again John and Debbi for making it happen!
