Well June kicked off with a flash. School got out, then the next week Johnny and I did a couple days away in Seattle to watch the USA vs Panama soccer game to celebrate his birthday. It was a wonderful, yet short trip, but we had a great time being alone together. We had to of course hit up the Crab Pot on Pick Street then tried to burn off some of our food and walked to the stadium. We had third row seats and we sat right were the players enter and exit the field. It was fun to see the little kids getting autographs from some of the players. The next day we did a little shopping, meet up with some awesome friends, McKenzie and Dave for lunch, and then headed on home.
A few days before our trip we discovered that we were expecting baby #3. We were thrilled and I was happy that I could get this quick trip in before the morning sickness took over my life. :)
A friend from my ward approached me about doing a mini craft day for our girls and some of their friends. I think it turned out pretty well and hopefully we can do it again next year. They made some pendants, bracelets and some star wands. Afterwards we had some lunch, painted our nails and did a little slip n slide. Overall I think all girls had a pretty fun time.
Johnny and I found some of these pearl beads that I used to do when I was younger and Lexi was in heaven. She spent hours playing with them and it is fun to see her creative juices flow.
Also another thing the girls have been into lately is building these towers. I am not sure who made this one but I love seeing the creativity.
Poor Johnny's birthday is so close to Father's day, so he sometimes gets pushed aside on his special day. I try to make an effort to make sure he gets doubly spoiled. So this father's day the girls and I found Daddy a grilling apron and some of his favorite rubs, and of course a new board game.
We hosted at our house and smoked some ribs. The little ones enjoyed interrupting grandpas nap on the lawn.
For the week of the 4th of July we headed to Reno. It seems like there is never enough time to spend with everyone. I was sad I missed some people this trip. :( Hopefully we will see you soon!We went to pizza and the waiter gave the girls some pizza dough to play with and this is what happened...
Luckily for us Mary and Rudy let us crash at their house this trip. Mary is always a great sport and Lexi loved playing some kid games with her.
Of course no summer trip to Reno is complete without a trip to Tahoe
We enjoyed 2 good BBQ's on the 4th. One with Jen and Jeremy and their sweet boys, and then off to Wendy's family. We all enjoyed a little swimming, water balloon volleyball and a lot of good food. We later went to watch the fireworks near the Nugget. It was the best show I have seen in years, probably since the last time I was in Reno.
We experienced our first mini golf together. Danielle made it about 6 holes, I made it about 9. 100 degrees and being nauseous is not a good mix. Lexi and Johnny finished out strong and had a good time.
We also got to enjoy a little cousin time. The kids played duck, duck, goose, and some red light, green light. We could have used a lot more time, but alas sickness and time got in the way this time.
I did something I have wanted to do for a long time and that was to do a 5k but more importantly a color run. Basically you pay for people to throw colored cornstarch at you. It was a blast. I hooked up with some friends and formed the team, The Muffin Tops. We walked it together and we all made it out alive and very colorful.
Our friends got a boat this summer and invited us out for the day. Both girls were throwing fits about going on the boat. I think it is because they didn't want to wear life jackets, but once they saw their friends, we couldn't get the jackets on fast enough. Lexi had no fear and jumped right onto the tube. They had so much fun laughing and bumping around back there. Danielle on the other hand was not thrilled. I jumped on and forced her to ride with me. After a few minutes I made her sit in her own spot and then she didn't want to get off. There was one point I thought they were all going to be thrown off, and I thought for sure Danielle would be crying but they were laughing like crazy. I think she would have rode that thing til she fell asleep.
Now knee boarding was another story all together. Lexi watched Ella go and then jumped right out there. But unfortunately she was a little too forward and she sunk and fell off and then freaked out. So Johnny got out there and basically dragged behind her. I could hear him encouraging her to get on her knees, and we could hear her screaming bloody murder out there. It was a side of her not too many people see but it was hilarious. If she knew what swearing was, I am sure she would have been cussing like a sailor out there.
Also one day Johnny decided to go do an early morning hike up a nearby mountain. He returned to wake me up to say he was just involved in a hit and run accident. It took me about 2 minutes to comprehend what he was telling me. I was looking at him and could tell he was OK so that was a relief. But once he told the story, I was so freaked but extremely thankful it wasn't any second sooner or he would have gone to the hospital for sure. The other driver flew through a stop sign and Johnny hit them which caused them to spin around a few times and lose their bumper. Johnny looked and the boys who looked at each other, laughed and then drove off. So considering this was early in the morning, he figured they were high as a kite, or are in trouble for something. I am thankful that he was alive and unhurt, and the car wasn't too badly damaged. Too bad for us, we had to pay for the damages. (thank goodness for insurance which saved us hundreds of dollars) This is a good reminder that anything can happened and Heavenly does answers our prayers.
The rest of our days were spent inside watching lots of TV. I spent most of my time on the sofa and trying to not lose it. Luckily this pregnancy has been so much better then the girls and I was able to make it through without throwing up.(well only twice but that is close to nothing compared to Lexi or Danielle) I felt bad that I couldn't do much more, but I think they will live and hopefully we did make some other fun memories this summer.
