Spokane trip

For our last weekend before Johnny was back to soccer, we took a mini trip to Spokane.  One of Johnny's previous girl players plays for Gonzaga University and she was having her first game.  It was so extremely hot.  Thank goodness we packed chairs and an umbrella because I would not have made it in the 95+ weather on the metal bleachers. Danielle even got her autograph after the game so when she is famous we can be rich. :)

One place I have always wanted to go and see was the famous Red Wagon.  Lexi loved it, while Danielle was not happy at all, but after making her go down the slide a couple of times she warmed up to it.
Can't see perfectly but the blocks say "City of Spokane"

While we were downtown there was a unity fair going on.  As we were walking I got stopped by this super creepy clown.  Normally they don't bother me, but this guy I wanted to get away from right away.

This goat cracked me up.  It eats trash.  There is a vacuum in the mouth and it sucks the garbage in.  Genius I tell you, and you better believe that there was no garbage anywhere close to this guy because all the kids wanted to feed him.
We also did some shopping at some favorite stores, and we ate one of my new favorite places The Melting Pot.  It was perfect for the girls because it is basically finger foods dipping in cheese.  Yummy in the tummy!

We ended our trip on an interesting note.  It was so hot that we wanted to treat the girls to some ice cream.  The nearest place we could find was a Baskin Robbins, and it was kinda in a ghetto spot but we went anyways.  As we are looking at our flavors a rugged looking guy comes in and orders. To make the story somewhat short he was giving the worker a bunch of demands and then excuses why he is not going to pay for it.  The guy at the counter had enough after about five minutes of back and forth so said just leave and don't come back.  The guy took his cone and left.  But he forgot his backpack!  This make us laugh, because he was so dishonest that sometimes things come back to bite ya and it sure did to him.  An older couple that was in the store too gave the owner the bag and he put it in the back somewhere.  As we are finally eating our ice cream in peace, the guy walked back in.  Immediately my first thought was how can I leave this store in case something goes bad. Our closest exit was blocked and we would have to go past this guy.  Anyways the guy asked if we had seen his bag and the worker said, "I will be with you in a minute" while he was helping a mother and her kids get some ice cream.  I looked at Johnny and whispered, "this could get ugly" and he immediately said yeah let's get outta here.  So quickly we got to the car and drove to a neighbor street and ate our ice cream.  Then Johnny tells me how when he was paying he felt impressed to "leave the store now"  He kinda brushed it aside until I said something. We have no idea what happened or what would have happened but it was an amazing how much the spirit told both of us that we needed to go.  I am so thankful that we listened because who knows what the guy had in his bag that he left or what bad words my children may have witnessed.  We did drive back by the store later to make sure the store owner was OK and he was.  Then about a few blocks down we saw the guy without his bag.

It was so fun to just doing something as just our family.  I loved spending time with my husband and sharing a spiritual experience with him.  It will be a lesson to remember for sure.
