Our Reno Trip

Our family just got back from a week long vacation to Reno to visit my family. Here is Lexi giving us directions.
12 hours later we finally made it. It was a long day but Lexi did well considering she hates her car seat. We got to spend some time at my sister Candice's house with her kids. Lexi loves bikes and is always climbing on. Hmmm... I wonder what Santa will bring this year?

This is a picture of Hannah and Uncle Jared giving Lexi a little help.
We stayed at my cousins Steph's house with her husband Robert. We got to enjoy their pool a few days. Lexi loved teasing everyone and pouring water all over us.
At Lexi's other cousin's house she enjoyed her first tea party with Juliana. She made a good little mess, but thankfully it was just water.

Reno has this little safari zoo, so I thought that would be great to take Lexi to. She loves animals and was so excited to see so many different ones. This is a peacock trying to get this females attention, but she didn't give him the time of day. The poor guy tried so hard to woo her with his beautiful feather and fancy little shake thing.

They had a nice feeding/petting area that had some deer and goats. Lexi was a little timid because they like to chew on your clothes but she warmed up really fast and would pet all the ones she would see.

Lexi and of course my favorite was this white tiger. He was just chillin' in this pool thing and then he started to make a little whirl pool for himself. Lexi just talked about the kitty cat every time I asked her about the zoo.

Here is Daddy and Lexi feeding the animals. Lexi thought it was pretty funny. They put the food in an ice cream cone, so she kept thinking she could have some ice cream. Pellet flavored ice cream anyone?

Later that day we went to Circus Circus which has a pretty nice arcade and carnival games. Here is Lexi doing her favorite one, the race cars.
At one of the games we won a stuffed lion. Lexi got to choose which one and she held onto that thing for a couple of days, and even threw her Care Bear on the floor and only wanted to sleep with her new lion.
Too funny not to post this picture. We took off on Thursday to go camping with my family. This was Lexi enjoying the ride.
Johnny set up his hammock that he brought and all the girls fought about it the rest of the week.
Here is Emily and Juliana playing in the sandbox.

This is about what Lexi looked like the whole time we camped. She loves to play in the dirt. She even had her own hand print on her face in this picture. She would lay in the dirt and put it on top of herself. And the poor dogs got a lot of dirt on their heads too. All of the hard work playing caused her to do something she never, ever does...fall asleep in my arms. She has not done this since she was probably 4 months old.

Lexi enjoyed a few wagon rides by different people. The last night we were their we hike to an area we call the point. Lexi and Juliana got pulled most of the way by Johnny, while Mike, Grandma and I pulled up the rear. It is almost a mile hike a luckily for me Marissa came along on her four wheeler and gave Lexi and I a ride back.

This was the view from the point.
Lexi warmed up to everyone really well but there was a select few she really liked. One of those was my brother in law Brad. He loves to tease her and she just eats it all up. He asked her if she wanted to get on the four wheeler and she jumped at that idea.
So what does four days in the heat and dirt plus mosquito bites equal? One very tired and sad looking girl. I had to tell people that it is not the chicken pox. I counted 11 on one arm and she wouldn't stand still so I know that she had way more than that. Poor thing!!!
We all had a great time visiting the family and camping with everyone. It had been about 7-8 years since I have been with my family on a camping trip so I had a really good time despite the mosquitos. Lexi loved playing with her cousins and getting teased by everyone.
Hopefully it won't be another 7-8 years before we get to do it again.

Too much fun! Lexi looks so tired! I love that picture of her covered in dirt with that big smile. That is totally Cardyn. She is the happiest when she is playing in the sand, dirt...or MUD! How fun, I was thinking about you all week. Glad you are back!
