A lot of catch up pics

So I have been neglecting the blog lately. So here is a few random pictures and updates of what we have been up to lately.
Lexi and I went with Betsy, Ella and Grandma to see Toy Story 3. Toy Story is one of Lexi's favorite movies ever since Easter. Her eyes were glued to the screen the whole time. When she got home, she kept telling Johnny that she saw the "new" one.
Lexi did swim lessons for a couple weeks at the end of June. Her teacher is a friend of the family, Shayla. Lexi would talked to Shayla, (this is rare that she talks to someone she doesn't know well) and at home she would say, "Mom, I like Shayla." So cute. She did so much better this summer. She didn't cry and she did all the things that Shayla asked her to do. Her favorite part is to jump off the side of the pool. When we go swimming we have to do that like 100 times with her now.
Lexi loves to be outside, and so does Danielle. She will stand at the door and dream about escaping out there with Lexi. Someday girl, someday!

I made these fun cookies, but I have to admit they look way better than they taste. But the girls didn't mind.
For about four weeks Lexi has been doing gymnastics once a week. She doesn't love the opening part where they do stretches. She does however love jumping into the pillows. (foam pit) Almost everyday, she asks if she can go jump in the pillows. I am a little worried that she is going to be sad when we don't go anymore.

Of course with any hot summer, we spend a lot of time at the pool. This was Danielle's first time. She loved splashing, which of course was all over her face but she didn't seem to care.

For the 4Th of July we headed downtown to a parade with the Kemp family. I told the girls that they needed to wave at the people in the parade, so that they will throw candy at them. Lexi took me very seriously and would keep telling Ella to keep waving.

Funny side note. So when we go to where we were going to sit, I asked Johnny if he told her to bring her flag, he thought I told her. Plus she wanted to bring her bucket, which I would have made her keep in the car, but Johnny let her have it, which turned out great to collect her candy with. It turns out that she was a little more prepared than I was for her first parade.
For the rest of the holiday weekend my sister Mary came for a visit. I was so excited especially since it was last minute! We watched the fireworks from the back yard together. We attempted to take pictures but we don't know enough about our camera I guess. I thought this one turned out cool, to me it looks like a jelly fish.
We also took Aunt Mary to the Country Mercantile for lunch, and a train ride.

Then the last day we drove to Leavenworth. We had fun looking in the shops. Unfortunately, this was the only picture that I took, which happens to be in a McDonald's on our way home. Which by the way was the most posh McDonald's that I have ever seen. It had leather couches and all this fancy tables and chairs.

We had so much fun with Mary. Lexi fell in love with her right off the bat. When we went to the park, like right after she got here, she was saying "look at me, Aunt Mary, look at me!" Forget mom, Aunt Mary was here! It sure wasn't long enough to have her here, but we shared a few good memories.
