This last weekend we got a little getaway to Portland, OR. We left Thursday night and got to our hotel around 8. On our way into the hotel parking we spotted a Cold Stone, so after we checked into out hotel we ventured to get some ice cream! Oh Cold Stone how I have missed you! We headed back to our hotel and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We decided to book our hotels through priceline.com, which we have never done, and we we not disappointed. We totally lucked out with the first hotel. It was super nice and the one thing I really wanted to do on this trip, was to sit in a hot tub, and I got my wish.
Friday morning we drove a few blocks to the temple. Johnny and I have never done a session there. It was so beautiful. I loved the style of this temple. It has so much marble. I just loved it. Here are some pictures of us after our session.
We did some shopping that day over at Washington Square. It was nice to try on clothes and not worry about Lexi crawling under the door or trying to look under someone else's. We then headed to our next hotel downtown.
Isn't she a beauty. It was next to this park and was right next to a yacht club. It was so pretty and the room was HUGE!!! I think it was bigger than our first apartment we lived in. We then got a couple's massage. Johnny is totally convinced now.
The inside has raspberry filling for the blood.

Out of the whole trip this was the only picture we got together. We had a great time talking to each other and just learning more things about each other. We both really needed the break away. Hopefully we don't have to wait five more years to do this again.
After getting all pampered we got dressed up and headed over to Morten's Steakhouse. We forgot to take a picture of us all dressed up :( If you have never heard of Morten's, it is fancy and expensive. (and if you know me well enough, I have a hard time spending 20 bucks a person to eat, let alone like $75 or more, and we had a great deal) They are the type of place that has a dress code. They have these wine cellars that famous or rich people have. It. was. amazing!!!! The food was beyond perfect. This was definitely one place we won't be able to go again soon, so we enjoyed every second of it.
On Saturday morning we headed out early and walked over to Voodoo doughnuts! We saw this place on the food network one day and thought we would give it a whirl. It was so fun to see all the different ways you can shape or top a doughnut. We hit it at the perfect time because when we walked out there was a line out the door. Here is Johnny with his voodoo doll
One of the best ones we got was one with crushed oreo's with a peanut butter drizzle.
We spent the next few hours walking around downtown. Nothing was opened yet, but we just enjoyed looking at the buildings and the interesting people that are located downtown.
I can't remember the name of this fountain but it had something to do with a car. You can't see him too well but Johnny is standing on the other side.
In Pioneer Square they had this flower festival going on. They arranged the potted plants on the ground and formed different designs. I thought it was pretty impressive.
This is what I love about big cities. I love art and I love architecture. I love looking at the little details in the building and art that surrounded me.
We did a little more shopping, and then on our way out we stopped to look at some waterfalls. We hike around a little bit and enjoyed the scenery.
Here is Multnomach Falls. I have driven by this several times but never had the time to stop. I was so amazed!

This view is looking down part of it. (This picture is being stubborn and I can't get it to turn but if you tilt your head to the right you can see the full effect.)

Hopefully we don't have to wait five more years to do this again. It was great to come home to see that our kids missed us and were well behaved for Grandma and Grandpa. What would we do with them? Thanks so much for letting us get away! We love you so much!
