It was a success!

So as I mentioned before this year I took on the task of cooking the turkey and hosting Thanksgiving at my house. I just had to share my wonderful success with everyone. OK I have to confess that I had a little help from my awesome husband. I took the guts out and he helped me lift that heavy thing.

So here is me in all my glory!
And ta-da...isn't she a beauty! She was perfectly moist and very yummy!
And I had to throw in Johnny's first carving experience, which may I add he did awesome!
And Lexi enjoying the fruits of our labor! This girl loves meat...we couldn't keep it on her plate!
So all in all Thanksgiving was great. We got to play a favorite game of mine, split and I got to go see a movie with my mother in law. (a well needed break for the both of us)
The rest of our weekend was uneventful. I don't do the black friday thing but this year I did go to one store because they had a great deal on scrapbooking paper! Maybe someday I will get the urge to stand outside in the freezing cold at 4am. Since I like my sleep and hate the cold it probably won't happen unless they are going to give it to me for free.
I was so anxious to have Thanksgiving done so I could put up our tree and decorations. This year it was fun to have some help from Lexi. She thought it was so great to see a tree in our house. So by 2pm we had everything up and ready to go. So bring on Santa!
So on a side note I thought I would list a few things I am thankful for this year.
*My wonderful husband who takes care of us and works so hard to make sure we have a warm home, food on the table and everything else we need.
*A beautiful daughter who puts more smiles on my face than anyone I know
*The health of my family
*This country we live in, though right now times seem scary, but it is still better than most other countries.
*The comfort of knowing that the leader of our church is chosen by our Heavenly Father and not by popular vote.
*My family that is near and far. There is all different kinds of relationships in my family but I know they all care for me and I them.
*My awesome friends who are my family here! I love you all and am truly thankful for your friendships.

Congrats on the moist and yummy turkey Julie. That's just awesome. Your list of Thankfuls is perfect. I relate to so many of them. Having Friends that are near and dear to you, while family is not around, is huge! I agree with you on that one! Love the picture of Lexi helping with the Tree.

So glad you're Thanksgiving was a hit! Your picture of the turkey is making me crave some more Thanksgiving food. Decorating the tree is so fun for the kids (young and old).

I am so impressed with your turkey! Good job! I have never cooked my own Thanksgiving dinner and think I would manage to screw up something! Glad you had a good one.

Great Job Julie. I am way impressed, I must admit I have never cooked a turkey and it totally intimidates me. We'll have to have you and Lexi over this week to play.
