2 weeks

Well my little baby is now over 2 weeks old. I forget how fast time flys when you have an infant. I feel my day is filled with diapers, bottles, laundry, dishes and kissing my girls! I am so glad that she is finally here and I love hugging her and kissing her little cheeks.

I wanted to back track a little and write about the day Danielle was born. So on Sat the 3rd I started having contractions but they were all over the place so finally I decided to try and go to bed and see what happens. Luckily I was able to sleep until I woke up at 4:30 with strong contractions. I made it to 2 contractions and woke Johnny and said let's go right now. We got to the hospital a little after 5am and I was already at a 5 so I asked for some pain meds before it was too late. I got my epidural and was much happier. About 8 I was ready to push but unfortunately for me she did not want to come out until 12:43. Yeah do the math on that one... almost 5 hours of pushing. Thank goodness I has an epidural. I felt so good that I was able to get her out without doing another c-section. It was such an awesome and spiritual experience for me and it totally made me love my husband 100 times more.

So the main question I get is how is Lexi doing with Danielle. Well she wants nothing to do with her. I had to bribe her at the hospital with ice cream to even come sit by me. So as you will notice I don't have a picture of them together because I don't want to force anything because it will only make things worse.

Lexi is slowly starting to warm up to her and asks where is baby sister. She won't say Danielle but Baby Sister is a cute name too.

Lexi loved playing with the curtains at the hospital.

Thank goodness my mom was able to come for about 2 weeks to come and help me. It was so nice to have her here and she helped me out so much. I was sad to see her leave but I was happy to know that she will be back for Thanksgiving. Lexi absolutely loved having her here and wanted Grandma to do almost everything for her.

This is the cute quilt she made for her.
Lexi having a great time with Grandma chasing her.

How can you not love this little face?
Did you eat something sour or are you just showing us your tough side?
I love having a baby around and glad once again that I am no longer pregnant.

She is adorable! Congrats and glad everything went good (besides the 5 hours of pushing!)

Julie you are looking great! I'm wishing we can all get over this nasty sickness that we've had so we can come visit you guys. Baby girl is so cute and I bet Lexi will come around soon when she realizes she's not going anywhere!

Julie,
Oh my gosh I have been so curious as to how it went for you. I am so glad that you had a good experience and that you were able to go without a c-section. I dont know about you but I thought it was much better. I have been wanting to come see your baby so badly, but we have also been sick. She is so cute. I told Kyle already that he is going to have some stiff competition for one of the only girls born the same time as him. I think he thinks that he can handle it. Maybe someday we will be related. I hope all is well, you, me and Ashley should get together again soon and talk. Congrats!!
